Nelson Toburen, a linebacker who earned two NFL championship rings with the Green Bay Packers under coach Vince Lombardi, has died at 87 after a cancer illness.
Toburen was part of the Lombardi era, one of the most celebrated periods in Packers history. The team dominated professional football during those years, and Toburen was a part of that winning period.
After his time on the field was over, Toburen went on to serve as a judge in Kansas, a role that defined much of his later life.
