Former UFC Star Tim Kennedy Shot in Congo Firefight

Former UFC fighter and US Green Beret Tim Kennedy was injured in a shootout in the Democratic Republic of Congo involving forces linked to Erik Prince, according to Reuters and the New York Times. A New Zealand SAS veteran died in the same ambush.

The incident has revealed what reporters describe as a private armed operation Prince is conducting in the region. Kennedy is recognised for his career as a mixed martial arts fighter and his career as a US Army Special Forces soldier.
